I had tried to help my teenage children have better lives and instead everything just went wrong and they blamed me for everything in their lives and for my daughter getting into a situation where she was hurt. In my attempt to help the children my business and home were lost and I was very devastated and just laid down on the couch and prayed to die.
It was a hot sunny afternoon on August 5th, I had just left summer classes and was on my way home. I tucked my feet into the same familiar steel toe clips and unlike most days forgot to wear my bike helmet. I had a 12 mile ride ahead of me. Long distance cycling was my talent and I was particularly careful to wear a helmet most days. But for some reason I forgot it.
In 2002 I was throw from a horse, broke my back in six places, and suffered a concussion. I was brought to the hospital and given iodine for a cat scan. Unbeknownst to me then, I was allergic to iodine and my heart stopped while I was in the cat scan.
