Continuing Education Available for Counselors, Chaplains and Other Health Professionals at IANDS Conference 2025

Durham, NC, July 29, 2025 – Several continuing education opportunities will be available for licensed counselors, chaplains and health professionals at the International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS) Annual Conference, August 27-31 at the Hilton Chicago Oak Brook Hills.

The Annual Conference brings together more than 800 near-death experience researchers, physicians, nurses, mental health professionals, clergy, those have had near-death experiences and those interested in the field to four days of education, workshops and sharing opportunities.

During the conference, IANDS will offer two continuing education (CE) certificates to in-person attendees for up to 16.5 contact hours:

  • One is available for licensed counselors and other health professionals who can use National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) CE to fulfill their CE requirement. This option is available through IANDS’s affiliation with the Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling (ASERVIC), and
  • Another option is available for any other health professionals who can use a General Certificate of Completion (GCC) to fulfill their CE requirements. This includes chaplains. Other health professionals should check with their CE evaluators to confirm that a GCC is acceptable.

Approved CE sessions may be found hereBefore attending their first conference CE session, CE seekers must register. At the conference, each CE seeker must sign in and out of each session for which they seek credit, using the sheet available just inside the main door to the session during the 10 minutes before session start and the 10 minutes after session end.

 Within one week of conference end, each CE registrant will receive, at the email address they provided with CE registration, an email with a link to an online evaluation form. They will have one week to complete and submit the form. Within three days after the submission deadline, the registrant will receive their CE certificate(s) as a pdf email attachment to save and/or print.

       Not attending the conference in person? Within three weeks of the conference, CE seekers may earn CE by watching available recordings of approved sessions and completing online questions and evaluation. Do not register now. When this CE option becomes available, it will be announced at the IANDS website (www.iands.org).
