We at IANDS would love to take this moment to wish everyone joyous and happy holidays. Whoever you are, wherever you come from, and whatever this holiday season means to you personally, we hope you’re enjoying this special time at the close of another journey around our sun.
Not everyone realizes this, but did you know that anyone can have near-death experiences and related phenomena? It’s true. It doesn’t matter what religious beliefs you follow, or whether you have such beliefs to begin with. Your personal views have no apparent impact on the likelihood of an NDE or related experience. And there’s a genuine beauty in that. In a world so seemingly focused on telling us how different we are, NDEs lend us evidence of just how close we truly are.
There are countless cultures around the world that each treat this season as special or unique. And whether you’re decorating a tree, lighting candles, exchanging gifts, or simply reflecting on 2025, the team at IANDS hopes for you to enjoy yourself, celebrate life, and have merry and happy holidays.

A brief recap of all the exciting things we’ve seen at IANDS in 2025:
- IANDS Conference 2025 was one of our biggest events to date. We loved seeing all of you in Chicago!
- Vital Signs Magazine received a massive overhaul. It’s absolutely stunning now, served digitally in a beautiful magazine format. If you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to see the Winter 2025 issue!
- We celebrated the golden anniversary of Dr. Raymond Moody’s landmark book Life After Life, which is often credited with giving birth to the scientific field of near-death studies.
- The official IANDS Podcast has seen major changes and improvements. You don’t want to miss it! Be sure to check it out on YouTube and/or Spotify.
- A brand new website, built from scratch and modernized. We’re so grateful so many of you have been enjoying the new website, its improved aesthetics, our new IANDS Q&A articles, and more.
- Our social media content has been vastly improved and is more engaging and enlightening than ever before.
- A revamped IANDS store, bringing you all sorts of great new IANDS merch.
- An easy-to-use tool for giving matching donations alongside your employer.
- IANDS moved into lovely new offices, with better equipment and amenities for our office staff.

For IANDS, 2025 was a landmark year. It raised the bar in big ways for 2026, a year in which we’ll be continuing our push toward the future. We can’t wait to see you at IANDS Conference 2026 in Seattle. And we’d love to hear your thoughts as we continue adding new ways to contribute to IANDS, improving IANDS Groups and Events, and enhancing our website with even more exciting new features.
