This June 1st to June 7th, please join the International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS) as we host the first-ever Near-Death Experience Week. Join us for a free panel discussion with two inspiring experiencers, a special edition of the IANDS Afterlife Revealed Podcast, and new IANDS Q&A and IANDS Glossary content here on IANDS.org.
Until you or a loved one have had a near-death experience, it can be extremely difficult to understand not just what happens during an NDE. The general public doesn’t really understand this phenomenon, and many often struggle to communicate with and offer support to experiencers.
At IANDS, one of our primary goals is to educate the public on and normalize conversations about near-death experiences and related phenomena. And that’s what Near-Death Experience Week is all about — helping more people understand near-death experiences, so experiencers have an easier time finding support from their loved ones, healthcare workers, and established networks of fellow experiencers as well.
Special Near-Death Experience Week events you won’t want to miss!
- Tuesday, June 2 at 7 p.m. EDT IANDS will host a panel discussion with two inspiring experiencers: Vinney Todd Tolman and IANDS President Evan Mecham. The event will be moderated by IANDS Executive Director Janet Riley. Click here to register for this free event!
- Saturday, June 6 at 3 p.m. EDT IANDS Afterlife Revealed Podcast Host Dani Foffa will moderate a discussion “What Academic Research and Personal Stories Tell Us About Near Death Experiences”. Results from a new NDE poll to be revealed soon
In advance of Near-death Experience Week, IANDS worked with Centiment and surveyed 2,100 Americans about NDEs. We asked people whether they themselves had crossed into other realms and then returned to their human lives (22 percent said they had) or whether they knew someone who had an NDE (35 percent said they knew someone who had).
We also asked Americans about their views on death and the afterlife, whether they think science supports the NDE phenomena. and whether humanity can learn from these experiences. The full results are fascinating and will be released publicly May 28 in a national press release.
