Dr. Peralta calls upon his many years in the field of Hospice and Palliative Care to look at the stages, as well as the physical and spiritual signs and symptoms, of dying. He compares and contrasts Erik Erikson’s adolescent psychosocial moratorium to a proposed psycho-spiritual moratorium. He concludes with an exploration of the potential therapeutic use of symbolic images in understanding the myth of death.
