Description

Robert Moretti, Psy.D.
Robert Moretti will speak on the influence of two near-death experiences upon the noted Swiss psychologist Carl Jung's creative work. One of these experiences was a psychological near-death, when Jung was perilously close to madness after his break with Freud. The other experience was a more conventional, physical near-death experience later in life. Both experiences were followed by periods of intense creative work, and each period of creativity was definitive in terms of Jung's unique contributions.

Robert Moretti received his Postdoctoral Diploma in Analytical Psychology from the C.G. Jung Institute (Chicago) in 1997. His other degrees include a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University (Chicago, 1982); an M.A. from the University of Chicago (1976); and a B.S in Psychology from Loyola. He has been in private practice of clinical and health-related psychology since 1995, and is on the staff of Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Dr. Moretti has been Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences since 1991 at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. He is also on the faculty at the Jung Institute of Chicago (1993-present), and has had academic responsibilities at the Dental School of Northwestern University, Loyola University of Chicago, DeLourdes College, St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital School of Nursing, and North Central College in Naperville, IL.
